Before & After Care
The Future Scholars Before & After Care Program is operated by the Borough of Prospect Park, Parks and Recreation Department.
Prospect Park Schools does not operate the Future Scholars Before & After Care Program. If you have any questions or needs, you must email the Program Director at futurescholars@prospectpark.net.
Children from grades K to 8 are eligible to participate.
Both programs are hosted at Prospect Park School #1
Before Care is available from 7:20 a.m. until 8:25 a.m.
After Care is available from dismissal until 6:00 p.m.
If you wish to enroll or renew your child, please follow the steps:
Go to Payschools (If you have not yet done so, create a Payschools user account).
After logging into Payschools, you will be directed to your Dashboard.
From the Fees table, select "Optional Fees"
Select your program choice and then select the shopping cart icon
Once you get to your shopping cart, you will be able to select your child's attendance times and the fees will populate.
If you are paying for the program, you must use a credit or debit card or a bank account. After you submit payment, an emailed receipt will be sent to you. IF YOU USE PASSAIC COUNTY 4Cs, YOU MUST STILL REGISTER YOUR CHILD(REN) EACH MONTH USING PAYSCHOOLS
If your child is new to the before and after care program, you must print and complete the forms below. These forms must then be delivered to the Director of the Future Scholars Program who is on the second floor of the the municipal building (106 Brown Ave, Prospect Park).
Monthly Fees/Rates
Before Care Program Only: 7:20 am - 8:25 am
5 days $115.00 (first child), $85.00 (for additional children in the same family)
4 days $80.00 (first child), $60.00 (for additional children in the same family)
3 days $50.00 (first child), $35.00 (for additional children in the same family)
2 days $20.00 (first child), $15.00 (for additional children in the same family)
After Care Program Only: 3:10 pm -6:00 pm
5 days $210.00 (first child), $180.00 (for additional children in the same family)
4 days $175.00 (first child), $155.00 (for additional children in the same family)
3 days $145.00 (first child), $130.00 (for additional children in the same family)
2 days $115.00 (first child), $110.00 (for additional children in the same family)
Before & After Care: If the student participates in both programs
5 days $270.00 (first child), $240.00 (for additional children in the same family)
4 days $235.00 (first child), $215.00 (for additional children in the same family)
3 days $205.00 (first child), $190.00 (for additional children in the same family)
2 days $175.00 (first child), $170.00 (for additional children in the same family)
Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance for Before & After Care is available through 4CS of Passaic County. The purpose of the subsidy is to provide financial assistance on behalf of the child for eligible families.
Child Care Eligibility Requirements
Eligible families must meet income requirements and not have assets that exceed $1 million
Must be working full-time (30 hours or more), attending school full-time (12 credits or more), or in job training (at least 20 hours a week)
Must contribute to the cost of care (co-pay) if applicable
Eligible Child: Up to the age of 13 or less than 19 if under the Division of Protection and Permanency Child Protective supervision or mentally or physically incapable of self-care U.S. Citizen or qualified legal alien
